Is your air worth breathing? None of us would eat or drink contaminated food. We certainly wouldn't feed our children or pets anything unsafe. Why then are we willing to breathe polluted air which contains moisture, mold, radon or other harmful agents?

Allied Safety Consultants, Inc. provides a fresh and innovative approach to solving indoor air quality problems. We perform services for residential, industrial, governmental, medical, and commercial clients throughout the Southeast and beyond. Our objective is to communicate the complex concepts of relative health risk, toxicity, and ventilation in a language that anyone can easily understand.

Our professionals combine the knowledge of engineering methods and construction management with the sciences of industrial hygiene and microbiology. Our methods enable us to identify, diagnose, and treat indoor air quality problems at a fraction of the cost incurred by larger environmental firms, and often in much less time.

Mold and moisture inside the wall cavities of homes, hotels, office complexes, and a host of other buildings is causing millions, if not billions, of dollars’ worth in property damages. In addition, this mold and moisture can and will cause a wide variety of health problems for homeowners, and building tenants.

IAQ Evaluations - Protect the health and safety of your loved ones

Many times, our clients don’t know exactly what the problem is in their home or office—they just suspect problems with the indoor air quality. Using our background as engineers and environmental scientists, we are able to enter a building and quickly determine the cause of the problem. Our site investigations are thorough, including evaluations of site grading and drainage, building pressure, and the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. We aim to identify and correct the source of the problem, not just treat the symptoms.

Exposure Assessments - Determining your exposure to mold, radon, asbestos, or other indoor air pollutants

if you suspect that your home contains radon or asbestos, or if you feel that you are being exposed to toxins at your workplace, Allied can assess your level of exposure and determine any potential health risks. Our staff of environmental professionals will develop strategies to eliminate or minimize these risks according to EPA and OSHA guidelines.

Mold Abatement Specifications - Safe and effective protocols for hazardous material removal

Mold abatement has become one of the hottest topics in the arena of indoor air quality. While mold is ubiquitous to our environment, the indoor environment should always be free of active mold growth and elevated levels of mold spores and other fungal particulates.

To achieve this goal, any specifications or protocols for mold abatement must be clear and concise. Allied’s professionals add a measure of common sense and knowledge of risk assessment to all of our abatement protocols, which ensures that our clients can return to their homes or offices quickly and that overall project costs are reduced. Our step-by-step abatement procedures are accompanied by photographic documentation and a full report detailing the cause of the problem.

Testing and Sampling - Latest methods used in testing and sampling, with laboratory analysis only by accredited AIHA laboratories

We believe that indoor air quality sampling should only be performed to prove or disprove a specific hypothesis. With regards to mold, we feel that far too much money is spent on samples that yield no useful information. Our professionals can quickly determine precisely what (if any) sampling is needed to corroborate the information found in our reports.

All of our samples are analyzed in a laboratory accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). We currently support the following analyses:

  • Mold
    • Airborne (viable and non-viable)
    • Bulk
    • Surface
    • Wall Cavities
    • Carpet Dust
  • Radon
  • Asbestos
    • Bulk
    • Airborne
    • Dust
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
  • Endotoxins
  • Metals

We are adding new analytical procedures all the time, so please contact us if you have a specific sampling request.
